A genuine product of the rural environment which she researches, Adele Phillips grew up on a family-run dairy farm in the Great Plains of the United States. Her work revolves around productive & didactic landscapes, social justice, and environmental sustainability.

She holds a Master of Architecture Degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and is currently on a Fulbright Graduate Research Fellowshipin Japan.
